    Description

I just unpacked this great piece from a box that I had packed away about 25-30 years ago.  This is a center-handled server / tray in the "Decagon" pattern.  This pattern was manufactured by the Cambridge Glass Company during the 1930's and 1940's.  This pattern was used as a blank for many of the fancy etched patterns.  This server has 10 sides, thus the denomination of "decagon".  It measures 11 inches across and stands about 5 1/2 inches tall.  The color is amber, which is a root beer amber color in Cambridge - very beautiful!!  The condition is EXCELLENT with no chips, no cracks, no damage whatsoever.  I identified this pattern / piece in the book "Elegant Glassware of the Depression Era" by Cathy & Gene Florence (copyright 2009, 13th edition) on pages 89 & 90.  The book lists this piece as measuring 12 inches across but it measured 11 inches when I measured it.  This is a beautiful piece made by a very famous company.  The center-handle has a famous keyhole design that is typical of many Cambridge Glass pieces.  Please see the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will be delighted with this piece!
